LinkedIn Launches New Company Pages

When it comes to social media and B2B relationships, LinkedIn is the first platform that comes to mind. Maintaining a company page on LinkedIn is so common that we don’t even question why we need it anymore. LinkedIn recently announced the launch of new company pages and rolled it out to the public over the course of last week. Let’s take a look at the changes.

The major change that LinkedIn has done is at design level, not at feature level. Similar to Facebook, Google+ and Twitter, LinkedIn now allows you to add a cover image for your company page.

You can use this customisation to show off the more business and operations side of your company. Norwest Business Portal is a great example of how well a cover image can be used to reflect the vision of the company.

Another interesting upgrade which you will notice right away is that the new LinkedIn Page has a link to your products page and careers page. This gives you greater flexibility to manage your audience. The products page is like a marketing dream come true. It allows you to market your company as a whole and the individual products and services that you offer.

The change LinkedIn has made is that you can now see the connections that have recommended your individual product/service.

If you are updating the status on you company page, you will notice a couple of interesting tweaks that LinkedIn has made to bring a feature that existed previously to the forefront. The ShareWith feature is right below your status updated and it allows you to share your post with all your followers or a targeted audience.

Similar to Facebook and Twitter, once you post and update with the link, it automatically picks it up and previews the webpage. A day after you have posted the link you can also see the reach of that link. LinkedIn will list the engagement, impressions, and shares of that post. This gives you greater insight into the performance of your company page and peak engagement times. Again, this is not a new feature but it’s a lot more prominent now.

With this new rollout, LinkedIn has also release a mobile app that allows users to search companies, not just people. This means greater reach, interaction and engagement. All in all, these changes give you greater opportunity to express your brand and its individuality. LinkedIn now has over 160 million registered users with up to 2 million company pages. If you are not already on LinkedIn, then this new company page is just the incentive you need to get on board!
